چکیده

Modern society relies on the fault-free operation of complex computing systems. So, requests on software reliability and availability have increased greatly due to the current applications. Software applications executing continuously for a long period of time show a degraded performance and/or an increased occurrence rate of hang/crash failure. Computer system outages are more often due to software faults than hardware faults. Predicting software anomalies (like software aging) caused by resource exhaustion is not an easy task. It is difficult to know a priori the parameters involved with the software aging. Thus the capabilities of Machine Learning (ML) algorithms and the statistical methods can be analysed to predict the system crash due to software aging caused by resource exhaustion. In this paper one of the statistical methods, time series analysis has been studied and a survey of the recent work in prediction of software anomalies using the same has been conducted.

Thermal anomalies detection before earthquake using three filters (Fourier, Wavelet and Logarithmic Differential Filter), A Case Study of two Earthquakes in Iran

Earthquake is one of the most destructive natural phenomena which has human and financial losses. The existence of an efficient prediction system and early warning system will be useful for reducing effects of destroying earthquake. In this research, the soil temperature time-series data, obtained from three meteorological station, using three filters (Fourier, Wavelet and Logarithmic Different...

Risk prediction based on a time series case study: Tazareh coal mine

In this work, the time series modeling was used to predict the Tazareh coal mine risks. For this purpose, initially, a monthly analysis of the risk constituents including frequency index and incidence severity index was performed. Next, a monthly time series diagram related to each one of these indices was for a nine year period of time from 2005 to 2013. After extrusion of the trend, seasonali...

Tidal prediction using time series analysis of Buoy observations

Although tidal observations which are extracted from coastal tide gages, have higher accuracy due to their higher sampling rate, installing these types of gages can impose some spatial limitation since we cannot use every part of sea to install them. To solve this limitation, we can employ satellite altimetry observations. However, satellite altimetry observations have lower sampling rate. Acco...

Semiparametric Bootstrap Prediction Intervals in time Series

One of the main goals of studying the time series is estimation of prediction interval based on an observed sample path of the process. In recent years, different semiparametric bootstrap methods have been proposed to find the prediction intervals without any assumption of error distribution. In semiparametric bootstrap methods, a linear process is approximated by an autoregressive process. The...
